THEME: LET US PRAY.
VENUE: ST. ANDREW CHURCH, AKILI-OZIZOR
DATE: 12TH – 15TH MAY, 2022.

THE SERMON AT SYNOD THANKSGIVING SERVICE ||TITLE: THE MAN OF PRAYER – PSALM 109:1-4|| SUNDAY 15TH MAY, 2022.

The Diocesan, The Rt. Rev’d Prosper A. Amah, in his sermon during the synod thanksgiving service on Sunday called all and sundry to give serious attention to prayer. He posited that Jesus Christ while on earth stressed on the need and the significance of prayer.

He further reiterated that a Man of Prayer must;
•Know the Lord and His Word. Ps. 119:105
•Have a clean heart. Ps 24:4
•Know the agenda of the kingdom of God and be sensitive to God’s timing.
•Fear and love God.
•Be covenant child of God.

Recall, the theme of this year’s synod is “Let us Pray” taken from Ephesians chapter 6 verse 18.

Making reference to the Bible’s men of Faith, he cited David and Daniel, amongst others as Men of Prayer who birthed possibilities in their time. Daniel’s consecration and consistency in prayer necessitated his continual success, victory and relevance in his time in Babylon.

Hence, if the church must succeed in a time like this; such a time bedeviled by hardship, insecurity, political instability, bleak future for the younger generation and demonic attacks, she must yield to God completely and take the matter of prayer seriously.

He equally maintained the stance that anyone who prays should be careful in speech and be a good listener in order to receive answers from God.

Again that no one who prays, harboring bitterness in his heart (against God or any man), should expect blessings (answers) from God.

All in all, many souls were lifted while very many others were rededicated to God to ensure a true Godly living and effective prayers.

Glory be to God.
